Nancy Hudson began her journey by following a very simple, yet profound command: “Help Her.” Those two God-spoken words in the summer of 1973 sparked years of commitment, care, and dedication that lives on to this day-through this book and its author. Since that time, Nancy's life has been one "simple" act of help after another-but when combined together, a life of great value and gain. Help Her is an endearing and personal story, blending the lives of many individuals, but especially that of the author as a loving servant to her leader and mentor.
Hudson gives a detailed account of her close relationship with Bishop Elvina E. Miller, writing with wit, love, affection and appreciation for her pastor as she discloses the touching connection that the two shared, as well as the impact that Bishop Miller had on the lives of others. The very act of writing this book to share with the masses is an act of obedience, and in the pages of this book, you will soon discover why… but that is not all that you will unearth.
Traveling, etiquette lessons, spiritual growth, a few furry friends, and Jesus’ many blessings are just a few of the adventures in store for you as you go back through the years, life lessons, and learning experiences with Nancy and Bishop Miller. With over 40 years fusing their lives together, the stories are endless, the laughs are many, and the morals learned and shared are in abundance.
Nancy A. Hudson accepted Jesus as her Savior in 1972, and the following summer, while working at Beacon Lodge Camp for the Blind, she met a friend who would introduce her to Reverend Elvina E. Miller, pastor of Deliverance Temple in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. After graduating from Salem College in 1974, she completed ministry courses and training at the helm of Sister Miller, eventually becoming her assistant in 1995. Following her pastor’s example, she graduated from The Protocol School of Washington as a certified Etiquette and Protocol Trainer, which she has implemented in the church, taught in businesses, and continues to teach at home and at the Oasis International Training Centre in Ghana, Africa. As of September 2013, Pastor Nancy is the General Overseer of the Oasis Churches in Pennsylvania and Arizona, and is the Senior Pastor of the Oasis of Love Church in Shippensburg.
